Academic Assistance
The After School Academic Assistance Program provides a quiet place for all students to work after school with the support of the professional teaching staff. Students who attend the program will receive help in completing homework, organization, content specific skill reinforcement, study skills, self-advocacy, writing skills, and research skills. This program offers a unique opportunity for all students to interact with teachers in a meaningful way to reinforce academic skills and seek assistance in academic areas of concern for the purpose of building the confidence they need to be successful in the classroom.
The program consists of an 8th Grade Homework Help room, a 7th Grade Homework Help room, and a 6th Grade Homework Help room. Each of these designations is supported by two teachers. The Writing Center, the Library Media Center, and one computer lab will be available to all students who attend the Academic Assistance Program. Each of these locations is supported by one professional staff member.
